Terms of use
1. The licence
On iPhone, Mafia is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which applies in full. On Android, it is provided under these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. These terms add to them where the app does something they do not cover. Where they conflict, the store’s terms prevail.
2. The free game, and the day pass
- Joining a game is always free.
- The first game hosted on a phone is free, with every character included.
- After that, hosting needs a day pass: unlimited games for 24 hours from the moment it is bought. It is a single purchase, not a subscription, and it does not renew.
- If a pass runs out during a game, the game pauses before the next night until the host buys a new one. Nothing in the game is lost.
- The price is shown in the app, in your local store currency, before you buy.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. We do not receive your payment details. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or to Google Play under its refund policy.
3. Playing
- Mafia is a game for people in the same room, each on their own phone. The host’s phone runs the game and speaks the narrator’s lines; keep its volume up.
- The name you play under is shown to everyone in the game. Use your own, or a nickname, and nothing offensive.
- Killing, saving and voting out happen in the game only. Play kindly.
4. Availability
The app runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later and on Android 8.0 or later. A game needs every phone to be online, because it passes through our relay. We run the relay at no charge to you and aim to keep it available, but cannot guarantee it. We may add, change or remove features in updates, and will say so in the update’s notes.
5. No warranty, and limits on liability
The app is provided as described in the store’s terms, which set out the warranty and the limits on liability. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law of the country you live in that cannot be limited by agreement.
6. Privacy
What the app keeps and what passes through the relay are described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top will move and the change will be noted in the app’s update notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
