Terms of use
1. The licence
Document Organiser is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’sLicensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which applies in full. These terms add to it where the app does something the standard agreement does not cover. Where they conflict, the standard EULA prevails.
2. Free month and purchases
- The app is free to use for thirty days from the day it is downloaded from the App Store. The free month cannot be restarted by reinstalling, restoring or signing in elsewhere.
- After that, continued use requires a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase. Prices are set for your country by the App Store and shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel in the app under Settings › Subscription, or in iOS under Settings › your name › Subscriptions. A cancelled subscription runs to the end of the period paid for.
- All payments, renewals, plan changes, restores and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s terms. We do not receive your payment details, and refund requests go to Apple atreportaproblem.apple.com.
3. Your documents are yours
Everything you put into the app remains yours. We claim no rights over it, we cannot read it, and we never have a copy. Whether or not you are paying, the app will always let you take every document out as one export — including from the screen that appears when a subscription has lapsed. We will not withhold your documents to obtain a payment.
4. What the app reads, and what you should check
The app reads text and details off documents using on-device text recognition and, where available, on-device language models. Reading is not perfect. A number can be misread, a date can be taken from the wrong line, and a question about a document can be answered wrongly. The app checks what it can — card and ID numbers against their own checksums — and shows you what it read so that you can confirm it, butyou are responsible for checking any detail before you rely on it, especially a number you are about to give to somebody else.
5. Your responsibilities
- Keep your device’s passcode and biometric enrolment to yourself. Anyone who can unlock your device can unlock the app.
- Store only documents you are entitled to hold, and share them only where you are entitled to.
- An export or a shared copy leaves the app’s encryption. Look after it as you would the paper.
- Backup depends on your iCloud account, your iCloud Keychain and your devices being signed in. If you turn backup off, or your iCloud account is unavailable, losing a device may mean losing the documents on it.
6. Availability
The app runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. Some features depend on the device: asking a document a question needs Apple Intelligence or the app’s downloadable reader, and the reader is fetched from a third-party host (Hugging Face) that we do not operate and cannot guarantee. We may add, change or remove features in updates, and will say so in the update’s notes.
7. No warranty, and limits on liability
The app is provided as described in the standard EULA, which sets out the warranty and the limits on liability. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law of the country you live in that cannot be limited by agreement.
8. Privacy
How the app handles your documents and what leaves your device are described in theprivacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top will move and the change will be noted in the app’s update notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it; if you do not, you can export your documents and stop using the app at any time.
